Is this a fasting program?

The 10 Day Transformation is what I call a "juice-and-soup" cleansing diet. In other words, you are not expected to do a true fast, which is when you abstain from all food. Water fasts can be very hard on your body, especially if you have never fasted before. I've done them all -- and this is why I created the Ten Day Transformation, to be the best of all worlds! You will experience the cleansing and healing benefits of fasting, without undue discomfort or risks to your health. You will be flooding your body with healing nutrients in the most easily-digestible form for superior nutrition. In fact, you'll be nourishing yourself all day long!

 

How is this different from the "Master Cleanse"?

The Master Cleanse is where you only drink a blend of lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup for 7-10 days. I do not recommend this approach -- especially if you have never done a cleansing program before. The problem with it is that your body will start to dump toxic debris into your bloodstream -- without any nutrients to buffer them as they are eliminated. The master cleanse can be extremely taxing to your internal organs and puts stress on your heart. Why not do my Ten Day Transformation and get all the benefits of a fast -- without the discomfort?


How is the Ten Day Transformation different from the Three-Day Detox Diet?

During your Transformation, you will be drinking special blended fruit smoothies and blended vegetable soups, along with recommended teas and supplements (optional). By contrast, on the Three-Day Detox, you are actually eating breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack, along with the recommended teas and supplements. I highly recommend that you prepare for your Transformation by doing the Three-Day Detox. This will allow you to start to eliminate packaged, processed foods and focus on wholesome, nourishing foods that are free of the most common allergans like wheat, corn and dairy. The Three-Day Detox can be followed for the rest of your life, if you like!


Which program should I get?

Won't I get hungry?

The wonderful thing about the Transformation is that after the first couple of days, all hunger pangs vanish and you actually feel fuller faster! You should expect to have more energy most days (perhaps feeling a little more tired when yor body is going through deeper cleansing periods). I've included a list of common detox symptoms you may experience, and ways to accelerate your results! Most people feel so GREAT when they're doing the Transformation that they don't want to quit!


How much weight can I lose?

It's likely that you'll lose up to 10 pounds on the 10 Day Transformation -- even more if you begin with the Three-Day Detox as a preparation. Keep in mind that your body will also be shedding inches, so I recommend measuring your waist, chest and hips before and after as well. You get a complete "Pre and Post Assessment" with your Transformation program, so you can easily track your results. Many of the amazing changes will be in your physical, emotional and spiritual areas as well!

Also, remember that the Ten Day Transformation is a cleansing program designed to help your body eliminate toxic debris, so it's highly likely that you will continue to shed excess weight even after you complete your Transformation!


What about water weight?

Naturally, some of the weight you lose will be water waste. It's a good thing to eliminate this excess fluid, which your body has been holding onto in an attempt to buffer some of your cellular debris. Congratulate yourself everytime you use the bathroom, because this means you are detoxing rapidly. Keep in mind that the by-rpdocut fo fat metabolism is also water (and carbon dioxide). So breathe deeply, drink your water, and enjoy your results.


What about protein?

Protein is made up of a combination of amino acids, which are abundant in fruits and vegetables! So while you won't be eating any animal protein while your on your Transformation, you will be providing your body with easily-absorbed and assimilated amino acids which we be used for repairing your cells, tissues, skin, hair and muscles. The good news is that you body will also be breaking down old proteins in the form of scar tissue, inflammation and other damaged cells and recycling them for rebuilding. That is part of the magic of your Transformation!


What about going out to eat?

For best results, try to prepare all your own meals during your Transformation. If you find that you absolutely must eat out, then follow the tips and tricks outlined in my Three-Day Detox Diet. You can easily adapt nearly any restaurant meal to the Three-Day Detox, and then just go back to your Transformation the very next meal.


What should I do if I'm traveling?

For best results, schedule your Transformation during a time when you can devote yourself to healing. That being said, traveling can actually lend itself very well to the Transformation process! The key is to make sure that you have access to a blender. You can even pack one along for your trip! Then hit the farmer's markets and load up on any sort of fruit and vegetables you love. Blend up your smoothies as prescribed in the Transformation, and if possible, prepare your soups, too. Be careful of the juice bars, though -- unless it's freshly squeezed, the juice from most commercial places is loaded with fruit juice concentrate and is high in sugar.


Do I have to do the whole 10 days?

Listen to your body and decide what is best for you. Ten days is the optimal amount of time for your body to do its deep cleansing. However, one, two or three days is also beneficial! You may want to do the Transformation program on the weekends or just one or two days during the week.


Can I do more than 10 days?

If you have more than 20 pounds to lose, you may follow the Transformation for up to 20 days. After that, I would recommend transitioning back to the Three-Day Detox. You may continue to cycle like that until you lose your desired amount of weight.


How often can I do the 10 Day Transformation?

I recommend doing the Transformation four times a year, preferrably with the change of seasons. You may do all 10 days, or simply do a day or two, depending on how much you feel you need to cleanse. As you continue to follow a healthier diet, you may find that doing the Transformation program one day a week throughout the year is a better fit for you. There are no hard and fast rules -- listen to your body and do what is appropriate for you!

No, the Ten Day Transformation is NOT for everyone. Only people who are serious about taking control of their health and committing to healing and cleansing should undertake the Transformation. The Ten Day Transformation is NOT suitable for anyone under 18 years old, pregnant or nursing women, people with diabetes or patients undergoing dialysis.
